Komsa – Gorravárri
The indigenous people of the North, 146 meters above sea level. In the middle of the city you’ll see one of the most visited mountain peaks with a great view of Alta, the harbor, and the surrounding mountains. You can even see all the way to our ski resort.

Hjemmeluft – Jiepmaluokta
Local mountain just outside of Alta, 134 meters above sea level. Easy accessible with a fantastic viewpoint of Alta city center, the Altafjord and Skoddevarre mountains. Alta Museum is close by the start of the path, so make sure to stop by and have a look at the rock carvings!
Can be extended to a full day hike to the top of the Nordtoppen mountain 474 meters above sea level.

Sakkobadne
Bomb crater and plane wreck from WW2, 283 meters above sea level. Visit the historical mountain peak where a british bomber crashed after being shut down by the german warship, Tirpitz. The hike is 40 minutes drive from Bjørnfjell to the opposite side of Alta. From the peak there is a beautiful view over the fjords and Alta.

Skoddevarre
View point of the Alta river and fjord, 352 meters above sea level. A lovely hike up as far as you wish to see a spectacular view of the famous Alta river and the fjords. Extendable to full day hike for visiting a “gamme” which is a special hut developed by the Sami people in the mountains.

Ulvehenget
Hike up a mountain nearby Bjørnfjell and get a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, Rafsbotn village and the fjords. This trip can easily be moderated to your level.
