AURORA CHASE BY SNOWMOBILE
Chasing the Aurora
Have you ever seen Lady Aurora dance in the sky? With a little patience and clear skies you might have the luck to gaze at her graceful movements during this Northern light tour on snowmobile.
See below menus for more information and details about the activity.
1. Start your evening adventure with meeting up with your guide in the Bjørnfjell lobby and get dressed in our warm overalls, shoes, mittens and helmet.
2. You will get thorough instructions on how to drive safely and then start your journey into the dark forests and towards the Finnmark tundra.
3. Surf on the snow through the forest and open landscape on your way to the mountain, where light pollution is zero and the only thing that lights up the nature around you are the stars and hopefully the northern lights.
4. After driving for a while, you will reach our camp with a “Gumpi” (Gompi), a small cabin-looking wagon placed on skis and designed to be transported with a snowmobile. Traditionally used by Sami reindeer herders as a shelter that could easily be moved around on the mountains.
5. Enjoy a hearty traditional Sami reindeer stew inside the Gumpi, before we continue the drive and hunt for the northern lights on the Finnmark plateau.

Important Information about our Northern Lights tours:
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, no refunds are provided if the Northern Lights do not appear.
Weather conditions in the Arctic change quickly. It may snow during the day and still clear up to a starry sky at night. Our guides continuously assess conditions to offer the best possible experience.
Requests to change the date of a Northern Lights tour may be considered subject to availability, but cannot be guaranteed and may involve additional fees.
Our tours are rooted in Arctic living, where the experience itself — the landscape, atmosphere, and time spent outdoors — is just as important as the Northern Lights.
